Donabate Food & Farmers Market is a new weekly market running in Donabate every Saturday from 10.30am to 3pm. The market takes place in the grounds of St Patricks Hall Donabate.
Stallholders are all local people who have completed the home business food course and are now HSE certified to sell at the market. Stalls will include delicious locally produced fruit; gorgeous homemade jams; flowers; locally grown veg; freshly baked breads; delicious cakes; fresh fish and many more. Come up for a coffee and to try some samples.
Produce found at Farmers Markets will be locally grown and very fresh. People argue farmers markets allow farmers to pick produce at the peak of flavor, preserve the nutritional content of fresh produce, and since locally grown produce does not travel as far to get to your table, the difference in mileage saves fossil fuels.
• Farmers/producers sell directly to consumers, minimizing profit loss by circumventing the middleman.

• You get to enjoy fresh food that was produced within a drivable distant from their homes.
• You are supporting local small businesses and more capital remains in your community.
• They give us all the opportunity to think about what goes into producing our food supply.
Coming along to the market means you are supporting the local economy and the new small local businesses.Locally grown foods are fresher, more nutritious and you learn about the food you buy from the person who produced it.When you shop at your new Local Food & Farmers Market, you are getting the best food you can for your table.
